About 50 pounds of pot was seized Sunday night, Oct. 18, from the trunk of a stolen car, Riverside police said.
The stolen car was discovered by a patrol officer’s license plate reader about 9:50 p.m. parked near Locust and Ninth streets, according to a Police Department news release.
Additional officers arrived at the scene and assisted with a “high-risk stop” of the parked car. Officers could not locate the car’s driver, but identified two passengers, the news release said.
When officers began to search the car, they found the pot in the trunk. The drugs were seized and cataloged as evidence.
